Chelsea target Edinson Cavani
The Blues are set to make a massive £50 million bid for PSG striker Edinson Cavani, report the Express. Maurizio Sarri is keen to bring in the Uruguayan as he looks to bolster his attacking options. With Cavani’s contract expiring in 2020, PSG might just consider the offer and let the player leave for Stamford Bridge.
West Ham prepare Candreva bid
West Ham are exploring the possibility of signing out-of-favour Inter winger Antonio Candreva, report Corriere dello Sport. The Hammers were interested in bringing the Italian to the London Stadium in the summer of the 2018-19 season but eventually cooled down their pursuit after the arrival of Felipe Anderson. However, with injuries mounting for the Irons, Manuel Pellegrini could be considering to secure the services of the former Lazio winger.
Chelsea target Nicolo Barella
Chelsea have identified Nicolo Barella as a replacement for the outgoing Cesc Fabregas, according to the Telegraph. It is reported that a fee of about £45 million would be enough for Cagliari to sanction the move. The Blues also face stiff competition from Napoli and Inter Milan for the Italian. The 21-year old made his senior debut for his country in October last year and has been compared to former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard in Italy.
Arsenal set their sights on Suarez
Arsenal are close to signing Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, report Sky Italia. The Spaniard has been restricted to six competitive appearances so far this season and is willing to move abroad in search of playtime.
The 25-year old is open to re-uniting with Unai Emery following their time at Sevilla. Denis Suarez is expected to replace the outgoing Aaron Ramsey, who is set for a move to Juventus. But, the Gunners have limited transfer funds in January and therefore can only bring Suarez on a loan or buy him in the summer.
Fulham eye Origi deal
Fulham are keen on bringing Divock Origi at the Craven Cottage, according to The Sun. Fulham owner, Shahid Khan, is willing to spend again and let Ranieri strengthen the squad. Ranieri will be hoping his side can agree a fee with Liverpool before the end of next week. However, Origi won’t come that cheap as there are other clubs monitoring the Belgian’s situation at Anfield.
Oxford to hold out for dream Arsenal move
West Ham defender Reece Oxford is set to turn down a January move to Borussia Monchengladbach to see if Arsenal make a move, according to reports from The Mirror. It is believed that a fee in excess of £3 million could be enough to persuade the Hammers to sell the player. The 20-year old is reluctant to move to Germany again where he has already had two loan spells at Monchengladbach and would rather stay in England. Arsenal are desperate to bring in defensive reinforcements but may have to wait until the summer due to limited funds in January.
Man City insert clause in Diaz transfer
Man City have inserted an anti-United clause into the deal selling Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid, report Goal. A deal worth upto £22m including sell-ons to take the Spaniard to Madrid is on the verge of completion, including a 15% sell-on fee that rises to 40% if he is sold to another Manchester club.
Weah set for Celtic move
Paris Saint-Germain striker Timothy Weah is set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Celtic, report L’Equipe. The United States forward has been unable to secure regular minutes this season with Thomas Tuchel preferring the duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe upfront. The 18-year old is, therefore, expected to head north to Scotland and play under Brendan Rodgers for the next six months, after PSG tied him down until 2021.
Villa interested in Fuchs
Aston Villa are ready to move in for a loan deal for Christian Fuchs, according to the Mirror. The 32-year old was part of the Leicester City sqaud that won the Premier League in 2015/16. The former Austrian International has fallen out of favor at Leicester this season following the rise of Ben Chilwell at left-back, and Villa could use this opportunity to sign the German to step up their promotion push.
Bournemouth sign Nathaniel Clyne
Following the transfer of Dominic Solanke, Bournemouth sign Nathaniel Clyne on loan for the rest of the season. The 27-year old has fallen out of favor under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool with Klopp preferring Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back. The English International was eager to move in search of regular first-team football and Bournemouth were also in search of a right-back to replace Simon Francis who’s sidelined with a long-term injury.
Bournemouth seal £19m Solanke deal
Bournemouth have completed the signing of Dominic Solanke from Liverpool, according to the club’s official website. The reported fee, that saw the England U-21 International head towards the Cherries was around £19 million. The 21-year old was unable to record a single Premier League appearance for Liverpool this season, falling down the pecking order, even down to 3rd choice striker Divock Origi and, therefore, decided to end his 18-month spell at Anfield and move to Bournemouth.
